Pear Butter

This time of year I tend to have a surplus of pears. Partly because of the access I have to my church's orchard in Medford. After picking for the church welfare service, I can gleen pears for my family.
I found an easy, low maintenance method for making pear butter. Here we go:
cut and core 10-15 pears(leave skin on) , blend in blender with a couple tablespoons of cinnamon until smooth, put into a crockpot and cook uncovered for about ten hours or until it is thick and resembles whipped 'butter'.
Using sterilized small canning jars, process the butter using the inversion method.
Done!

My boys love this stuff on their peanut butter sandwiches for school.
