Sweet and Savory Greens
3 loosely packed cups of mixed lettuce greens
1 grilled chicken breast, sliced into strips on the bias
1 Fiji apple, cored and diced
¼ c crumbled gorgonzola cheese
½ c slivered almonds
3 T butter
3 T brown sugar
Using a small pan heat almonds, butter, and sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly until caramel generously coats the slivers. Set aside.
Present salad on a large dinner plate first; lettuce followed by the diced apple, crumbled cheese, sliced chicken and finish it with the sweet almonds. Drizzle with your favorite vinaigrette. Enjoy!!
