Portland Trip X 2

Two trips to Portland: One Good, One Bad.

First Trip. A couple of weekends ago we were able to travel to Portland. Ben had to attend a OMEA meeting and the boys and I decided to ride along and take in some Portland sights. We spent the morning at the Zoo and the afternoon at IKEA. We had a blast, but we were exhausted by the time we got home that night. Then there was the second trip four nights later....

Second trip. Benson fractured his elbow while wrestling with his buddy out front. After going to both Immediate Care and the Emergency Room it was determined that this type of a fracture needed to be treated at Doernbecher's Childrens Hospital which is four hours away in Portland. So at 11PM we traveled by ambulance to Portland and Benson had surgery the following morning. Benson returned to school today and has adapted well to having one hand (he will be in the cast for at least 3.5 weeks)

We were all so relieved that Benson didn't "break his arm off". Glad to hear he is adapting and hope you have recovered too!

Oh,man! I thought Benson had a big smile in his kindergarten photos, I think the smile from his hospital bed is bigger! Maybe there is something to your ER room punch card idea! :(

What?!? Poor Benson, and poor you! If you need anything, just let me know. Glad to see he's on the road to recovery.
